The season on the Arctic Slope seems so very short.  Autumn has arrived and the loons, although hardy birds, will not stay much longer.  The sun has started to set in the evenings and you can sense the daylight hours get shorter each day.  Arctic evening light, when it is out, is not more beautiful anywhere on earth.  This Arctic Loon has decided to move on to the next tundra pond against a dramatic evening sky.  Edition of 500.
