Trumpeter Swans are very large and powerful birds.  With a wing span up to seven feet and a very large body mass they are formidable foes when they decide to engage.  Smaller birds often shadow Trumpeter Swans as they feel quite safe.  I my self have been challenged by Swans on a pond full of birds.  It is as if they take on the responsibility of protection for the smaller birds.  These Trumpeter Swans were in a place with too little water and too many birds and they just got agitated.  The fights were intense but egos bore the brunt as opposed to physical damage.  Edition of 500.
