Print of The Month

Less than an hour from tumbling 40 feet from its nest, the newly fledged great gray owlet perches and stretches its wings.  The owlet will spend the next several days hiding in the low brush of the forest while climbing up increasingly higher broken logs in an effort to learn to fly.  The mother perches nearby, always watching and continuing to hunt for its one chick for this season. Time is of the essence however, as the owlet is vulnerable to predators during this flightless time, so it must learn to fly quickly.     Edition of 500.
